We use the Seltzer methods for scoring the Short Michigan Alcohol Screening Test.
The Seltzer Method uses one point for each questions answered YES except for questions six, 10 and 11, which are three points for each YES answer.
A score of one or less points indicates "Not-Alcoholic."
A score of two points indicates "Possibly Alcoholic."
A score of three points or more indicates "Alcoholic."
The SMAST is only one method of identifying a potential Alcoholism Problem.
Regardless of your scores, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
